Situated in the middle of the Korean peninsula, an area of great yang energy.
Fernando first explored the Sacred Site with the Korean Masters in 2019.
Detailed models of the topgraphy and buildings were created and the plans started to come to life.
The concept of vibration played heavily in the architect’s plan for the site and for the positioning of the structures.
Is the principle in Korean Traditional architecture that means houses are built with the Mountain at their back and the river in the front.
Following the principle above, the architet traced a linear axis from the Mountain to the river.
In one central axis, the Master’s House, Water of Life, Convention Center are alinged. All of the program and main building create a compound surrounding the Water of life in a big patio-like complex
The complex is deeply integrated with nature: from the west the terrain is embraced by the river, from the east is supported by the mountain. The sequence of gardens with variable designs (including precisely planed planting of flowers, combination of small paths among the trees and open areas or almost wild forest) will serve to hide the buildings to not be competitive to the beauty of the surrounding.
Aspects of traditional Korean architecture have been incorporated in to the building designs.1) Inclined curved tile roof system. 2) Lower/Mid/High inhabitable building, 3) Podium or pedestal.
The plans integrate the site in to the mountain slope to create a terraced effect.
